Project: The Fever
A rehearsed-reading performance of Wallace Shawn’s The Fever being presented in non-theatre spaces as fund raising for refugee charities.

In 2025 I’ve directed a production of The Fever by Wallace Shawn in collaboration with Taru Sinclair. We’re presenting this in small spaces – living rooms, church halls, cellars – as a rehearsed performance in the form of a reading. The performances are being done as fund-raisers for charities working with refugees.
Whilst Shawn’s text isn’t directly about migrants and refugees, the history he describes and our relationship to it does feel an appropriate companion and always opens up interesting conversations when we perform.
